Jennah Black is the owner and lead acupuncturist of Self Center Acupuncture, bringing extensive clinical experience, advanced training, and a deep commitment to individualized, patient-centered care. She graduated from Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in 2018 and is a Colorado-licensed acupuncturist and a board-certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine through the National Certification Board for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (NCBAHM). Jennah is currently enrolled in the doctoral program at Pacific College of Health and Science, where she is further advancing her clinical expertise through a strong emphasis on evidence-based research, critical evaluation of emerging scientific literature, and the integration of research-informed practices to continually improve patient outcomes.
Jennah has a particular passion for working with complex, chronic, and multifaceted health conditions that require a thoughtful, comprehensive approach to care. Her clinical experience includes treating neuropathic pain and nerve-related disorders, persistent musculoskeletal pain, trauma-related conditions, PTSD and CPTSD, digestive dysfunction, chronic fatigue, anxiety, depression, stress, and insomnia. She draws on her experience in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM), Abdominal Acupuncture, and Moxibustion to develop individualized treatment strategies that address each patient's unique presentation, functional limitations, and goals.
A significant part of Jennah's clinical foundation was shaped by her work for over a year in the Pain Clinic at EACH Army Hospital at Fort Carson, where she provided care to military personnel navigating pain and complex health challenges. This experience strengthened her commitment to serving those who serve and inspired her to join the Veterans Affairs Community Care Network (VACCN), allowing her to continue providing acupuncture care to veterans in the community. The encouragement and trust of active-duty service members who sought her care also played a meaningful role in inspiring the development of her own practice, Self Center Acupuncture & Microfrequency.
Today, Jennah combines this military and community-based clinical experience with a dedication to continued education, evidence-based research, and individualized treatment. She believes excellent healthcare requires more than simply addressing symptoms; it requires listening carefully, understanding the complexity of each patient, and continually refining clinical skills to provide the highest standard of care possible.
At Self Center Acupuncture, Jennah is committed to helping patients navigate complex health concerns, improve function, and work toward a better quality of life through thoughtful, collaborative, and research-informed care. Her goal is to make the benefits of acupuncture and integrative medicine accessible to those who need them most, while continually advancing her knowledge and clinical skills to better serve every patient who walks through her doors.
